The upholstery and drapery fabric Boom<\/strong><\/a> of the current nya nordiska collection, developed in collaboration with the multi-award-winning London product designer Bodo Sperlein<\/strong>, is already being used in various living areas and is now also making its way into the world of fashion.<\/p>\n

This is the first foray for Bodo Sperlein into the fashion world. He is well known internationally for the exceptional diversity of his portfolio, having worked with a number of prestigious clients across a variety of industries. His work is distinguished by his commitment to upholding traditional craftsmanship and exploring material possibilities. Bodo Sperlein has now applied his creative process and enthusiasm for these values to an exciting new fashion collaboration.<\/p>\n

In the Coll.A.B<\/strong> collection Bodo Sperlein’s Designs come to life, with the help of fashion and accessory designer Alina Oborska. Together with Alina Oborska’s sewing studio K’Alina Studio in Kiev, this collaboration focuses on an European collaboration. The name, Coll.A.B takes the \u201cA\u201d from Alina and the \u201cB\u201d from Bodo and emphasises the collaborative nature of the project.<\/p>\n

As part of their collaboration Coll.A.B, fashion and accessories designer Alina Oborska and Bodo Sperlein have created a unique collection for the fashion sector – consisting of a Statement Coat, a Pencil Skirt, as well as the elegant Aline Bag and an oversized Shopper style bag. All pieces are handcrafted from sustainable, luxurious materials. The graphic, dynamic all-over design of the nya nordiska wool fabric Boom and the clean, geometric shapes of the bag complement each other perfectly, creating an artful aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Combining Alina Oborska’s experience with leather and textiles with Bodo Sperlein’s innovative approach to design and materiality, they have developed a timeless capsule collection. The dynamic patterns of the fabric are highlighted by the clean lines of the \u201cAline bag\u201d with the geometric appearance of both the bag and its fabric creating an aesthetic that is reminiscent of the Neo-geo conceptual art movement. The bags\u2019 beautifully crafted leather trim provides a defined structure, which compliments the graphic lines of the fabric.<\/p>\n

The fabric used in this collaboration is the iconic wool fabric Boom that Bodo Sperlein designed for the international textile brand nya nordiska. The original inspirations for this pattern are the geometric motifs of the Cubist movement. The recycled Boom fabric is also part of the world-renowned prestigious design collection at the Neue Sammlung in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Germany.<\/p>\n
